Thermometer manufacturer, TME, caught everyone’s eye at this year’s Anuga FoodTec, combining an iconic German vehicle with some classic British styling to showcase its products in Europe.

A 1972 VW Campervan took centre stage on the TME stand, kitted out from roof rack to cooker with innovative temperature solutions from TME’s expanding thermometer range – and many visitors couldn’t resist a closer look.
“The campervan turned out to be a great eye-catcher,” explained MD, Tom Sensier, encouraged by the many visitors who stopped to admire the vehicle with its display of real life temperature applications, and stayed to seek advice for their own temperature issues.
“We had a record number of enquiries, and some interesting temperature problems to solve – from the complexities of fine coffee bean roasting to the fry-curve of the humble chip!”
Celebrating 25 years at the forefront of digital handheld thermometer design, TME came to Anuga FoodTec to meet with food manufacturers and equipment distributors from all over the world. They were not disappointed. “We were delighted to meet so many potential customers and distributors from our target markets – not just in Europe but further afield, including India, Russia, China and the Middle East.”
TME’s newest innovation, the MM7100 ThermoBar Scan Thermometer, impressed with its original combination of high accuracy temperature measurement and integral Barcode reader. Visitors immediately grasped the advantage of recording not only the temperature, time and date of each measurement but also the unique barcode identity of the product or test point.
Although new to Anuga, TME is no stranger to the international stage. MD, Tom Sensier: “We export worldwide and for 25 years our formula has been the same: high-accuracy, UK-built products, affordable but with a bespoke edge. We look forward to even more success in the future as we launch, in 2015, some of TME’s most innovative solutions to date.”
